I graduated in 1999, when the internet was hardly a thing.
For most of my career I was a GP partner, teaching medical students at Queen's in Belfast on the side. Somewhere along the way I burnt out, badly enough that I had to stop and rebuild. Sport was part of that rebuild. So was deciding what I actually wanted to do with the years I had left in medicine.
The answer turned out to be skin. I trained in dermoscopy in Australia and at Cardiff, opened my own clinic, and started making videos so that the things I explain across a desk every day could reach more than one person at a time.
That's what this site is. The clinic is where I see patients. Everything else, the videos, the book, the courses, the newsletter, is here.

I train for triathlon most mornings before work and race as an age-group athlete; I've represented Ireland at European level and finished an Ironman, which is the story the book tells. Evenings and weekends I play lead guitar in two bands, Raised on Rock and Risqué Blues, in bars around Newry and Belfast.
